If you’re a certified diver looking for something beyond reefs, this tour gets you up close with Tulum’s famous cenotes—two dives, all gear sorted, and an instructor who knows every nook. It’s not just about diving; it’s about feeling part of an ancient world just below the surface.
Gear up at our little dive base—honestly, it’s just a few blocks from the main road but feels tucked away from the morning buzz. Our instructor, Luis, checked everyone’s dive cards and made sure we had the right wetsuit size (the 5mm ones are a lifesaver; cenote water is chillier than you’d think). The van ride to Casa Cenote took about 20 minutes, windows down, jungle air mixing with that faint scent of wet limestone.
Casa Cenote looks almost like a river winding through mangroves. We slipped into the clear water and right away I noticed tiny fish darting around my fins. The sunlight cuts through the surface in stripes—makes everything glow underwater. Our first dive lasted about 40 minutes, super relaxed. Luis pointed out a blue crab hiding under a root and showed us how the halocline blurs your vision for a second when salt and fresh water mix.
After a quick snack (local peanuts and cold water), we drove over to Dos Ojos. This one’s different—more like entering a secret cave. The light show inside is wild; beams cut through holes above, bouncing off stalactites and making shadows dance on the floor. We swam past columns that looked sculpted by time itself, and in one chamber, bats hung quietly overhead. I remember hearing only my bubbles and the distant drip of water echoing somewhere deeper in the cavern.
This tour is only for certified divers with at least Open Water certification. If you’re not certified, ask us about beginner options at Casa Cenote.
The cenotes stay around 24°C (75°F) year-round. A 5mm wetsuit is provided and keeps most folks comfortable during both dives.
We provide roundtrip transport from our meeting point in Tulum. If you need help getting there, let us know—we’ll share easy directions or local taxi tips.
Nope! Entrance fees, gear, snacks, and water are all included in your booking price.
You’ll get two guided cenote dives at different locations (Casa Cenote and Dos Ojos), full scuba gear (including lights and thick wetsuits), entrance tickets, roundtrip transport from our meeting spot, an experienced instructor, plus snacks and drinking water—no surprise charges.
