If you want real Tuscan flavors without fuss, this picnic is for you. Pick your spot—olive grove shade or rooftop views—and dig into fresh bread, cheeses, and more. It’s easygoing and full of local touches.
The smell of warm bread hit me as soon as I opened the basket—still soft from the bakery down in La Chiusa. Our guide, Marco, handed us a chopping board stacked with slices of pecorino and ribbons of prosciutto. He pointed out the honey jar—his uncle’s bees made it just over the hill. We found a shady spot under an old olive tree; you could hear cicadas buzzing and see rows of vines stretching out below.
I tried layering a bit of fig jam on my cheese—never thought I’d like that combo, but it just worked. The olives had this earthy kick, not too salty. There was a little breeze that kept things cool even though the sun was bright. We poured some juice (you can pick wine if you want) and watched a couple of locals tending to the vineyard nearby. If you’re up for it, you can take your picnic basket out to explore—just ask about the deposit.
Yes! You can pick between the olive grove, vineyard, lavender field, or rooftop terrace. If you want to take your basket off-site to explore further, just let us know—a small deposit is needed for that option.
Water and juices are always included. Wine isn’t part of the standard basket but you can choose a bottle from our list for an extra charge.
The standard baskets feature cold cuts and cheeses with vegetables and salads. Let us know if you need a fully vegetarian selection—we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Your picnic basket comes packed with fresh bread from La Chiusa bakery, local cold cuts and cheeses (with jams and honey), olives or seasonal veggies, dessert from our kitchen, plus water and juice. Wine is available separately if you’d like to add it.
