What’s included

Your day includes boarding at Positano, Praiano or Amalfi with all landing fees covered; use of snorkeling gear; fresh towels; snacks and drinks served onboard; plus shower facilities after your swim stops before heading back along the coast.

We stepped barefoot onto the deck in Positano just as the morning sun started warming up the cliffs — not too hot yet, but you could already smell the salt in the air. Our captain, Antonio, was quick with a grin and handed out towels like he’d done it a thousand times (probably has). The engine hummed us away from shore and suddenly the coast got quiet behind us. I kept looking back at those pastel houses stacked up on each other — they look unreal from the water.

Crossing the Bay of Naples felt longer than I expected, but maybe that’s just because I couldn’t stop watching for dolphins (no luck, but someone swore they saw one). Antonio pointed out little coves where fishermen still mend their nets — he told us about his uncle who used to dive for sea urchins there. The wind picked up a bit and I got sprayed once or twice; didn’t even mind. We passed right under the Faraglioni rocks — everyone tried to snap a photo at once and almost dropped a phone overboard (not mine, thank god).

Capri sort of sneaks up on you — white cliffs and sudden flashes of bougainvillea above tiny beaches. We stopped for swimming near a grotto where the water looked impossibly blue. Someone brought lemon cookies and shared them around while we dried off in the sun; honestly, that taste mixed with sea air is something I still think about. Antonio offered us cold drinks and talked about Capri’s old movie stars — he does this route all summer but you can tell he still likes it.

The Blue Grotto was busy (fair warning: we waited almost an hour to get in), but floating inside with that weird glowing light was worth it. There’s this hush when you enter — everyone goes quiet for a second, except for our guide humming some old Italian tune under his breath. On the way back toward Amalfi we all just lay there half-asleep on deck, salty hair everywhere, not really wanting to talk much anymore. Sometimes that’s better than any story.
