Summary

Sail from corfu past blue caves to antipaxos beaches and gaios village

You’ll cruise from Corfu past fortress views and wild cliffs, enter glowing blue caves near Paxos, swim off Antipaxos’ white beaches, and wander Gaios’ tangled lanes for lunch or shopping. With live multilingual guiding included, you’ll catch small stories (and maybe a few laughs) along the way — plus that hush inside the caves will stay with you long after.

experience

What’s the experience like?

I didn’t expect the Old Fortress of Corfu to look so different from the water — kind of stoic, almost like it’s watching you leave. We drifted past Kanoni and Mon Repos (our guide mentioned Prince Philip was born there, which made me smile for some reason), and then suddenly the city faded into this wild coastline. The air got saltier. I remember someone nearby peeling an orange, the smell mixing with sunscreen and diesel as we headed south toward Paxos.

The boat slowed down near these cliffs that looked almost fake — white against this impossible blue. Our guide switched between English and German (sometimes both in one sentence), pointing out Ortolithos island and a rock arch called Tripitos. When we entered the Blue Caves, I swear everyone went quiet for a second. The water glowed under the hull, weirdly cold when I dipped my hand in. Apparently monk seals live here but we didn’t see any — maybe they’re smarter than us about crowds.

Swimming at Paradise Beach on Antipaxos felt like cheating on Greece with the Caribbean. I tried snorkeling but mostly just floated, staring up at clouds that looked like they’d been painted by someone who loves blue too much. Lunch was in Gaios; we wandered narrow streets where old men played backgammon outside cafés and cats eyed our souvlaki like tiny thieves. Li (our guide) laughed when I tried to order coffee in Greek — probably butchered it but she said “bravo” anyway.

I still think about that first silent moment inside the cave — how everyone seemed to hold their breath together, just for a beat. It’s funny what sticks with you after a day trip from Corfu to Paxos & Antipaxos by boat. Sometimes it’s not even what you expect.
