You’ll swim at Croatia’s famous Zlatni Rat Beach, explore secret bays on Pakleni Islands, stroll historic Hvar town streets, and enjoy local wine—all in one relaxed private day trip from Split.
The sea was glassy that morning as we left Split’s harbor—just a handful of us, coffee in hand, watching the city fade behind the boat’s wake. Our skipper, Luka, pointed out the old stone fortresses along the coast before steering us toward Brac. The air smelled salty and clean, with a hint of pine as we neared Zlatni Rat Beach. I’d seen photos of it before—this long tongue of pebbles stretching into turquoise water—but standing there barefoot, feeling the stones shift under my feet, it felt different. There were families already swimming even though it was barely 10am; a couple of locals selling figs near the path if you wanted a snack.
Pakleni Islands came next—a cluster of little green dots on the map but up close, all rocky coves and hidden beaches. We dropped anchor near Palmizana Bay. Some folks grabbed snorkels (they had gear onboard), others just floated or sipped cold drinks in the sun. You could hear cicadas buzzing in the brush above the beach. Lunch wasn’t included but our guide tipped us off to a spot called Toto’s where you could get grilled fish right by the water; I went for that and didn’t regret it.
Hvar town felt lively even in late afternoon—stone alleys winding up from the harbor, cafes spilling onto shaded squares. Our guide walked us past St. Stephen’s Cathedral and pointed out where locals go for gelato (try Loco Gelato if you’re curious). Before heading back to Split, we made a quick stop on Solta for coffee or a glass of local white wine at a tiny bar overlooking olive groves—honestly, it was hard to leave that view behind.
Yes! The tour is family-friendly and kids usually love the beaches and boat ride. Just keep in mind there’s time spent on the boat and some walking in towns.
Your safety comes first—if conditions aren’t safe to sail, we’ll reschedule your trip or offer a full refund. The captain decides based on sea conditions.
