inclusions

What’s included

Your day includes all drinks (wine, beer, sodas, water), a welcome schnapps as you board in Medulin harbor, freshly prepared lunch onboard with fish, tuna steak, meat or vegetarian options plus bread; swimming stops at Kamenjak caves; free time at Uvala Polje bay; an optional guided walk to see dinosaur footprints; and friendly guidance throughout from local crew members before returning to Medulin.

Li handed me a tiny glass of schnapps as soon as we stepped onto the boat in Medulin. I’m not usually a morning drinker, but it felt right — the air smelled like salt and sunscreen, someone’s kid was already squealing about fish. Our guide (I wish I remembered his name — he had this sunburned grin) pointed out islands as we drifted past, each with its own story that kind of blurred together except for the one shaped like a sleeping dog. The engine hummed low and steady; I kept thinking how different the Adriatic looks when you’re actually on it instead of staring from shore.

Kamenjak Nature Park snuck up on us — cliffs all jagged and pale against the blue. We stopped near Golumbera Cave, which honestly looked like nothing special from outside until you swam in. It was colder than I expected (goosebumps!), but inside, there were these weird echoes bouncing off the rock and little flecks of light on the water. Our guide showed us where to duck under into another chamber; I tried to say “thank you” in Croatian and totally butchered it. He just laughed and splashed water at me. Afterward, everyone looked sort of dazed — maybe from the cold or just that feeling you get when you’ve done something a bit out of your usual lane.

We passed Porer lighthouse next — this lonely chunk of stone out on its own island since 1833. The crew told stories about sailors getting stuck there during storms (not sure if they were true but they sounded good). Lunch came right after: grilled fish for me, bread still warm, wine that tasted better than it probably was because of the sea air. People got quiet for a bit while eating — just forks clinking and waves slapping against the hull.

Uvala Polje was our last stop — green hills rolling down to water so clear you could see every pebble. Some folks went straight in for another swim; I just sat on the pier with my feet dangling, watching shadows move under the surface. There’s a path nearby with actual dinosaur footprints (which is wild), but honestly, I just wanted to stay put and let my brain go soft for a while. That bay felt like time slowed down or maybe just stretched out sideways.
