What’s the experience like?

The morning air felt thick and sweet as we stepped off the ship and into our van—windows down, the breeze carried hints of salt and something earthy. Our guide, Luis, chatted about local legends as we rolled past fields dotted with mango trees and tiny roadside fruit stands. It’s only about 30 minutes to Vista Los Sueños, but you’ll notice how quickly the city noise fades into birdsong and the hum of cicadas.

At the adventure center, we hopped onto a tractor for a bumpy ride up the hillside. The guides handed out harnesses and cracked jokes while double-checking every strap. I could hear monkeys somewhere in the trees—honestly, my hands were sweating before I even saw the first platform. There are 12 platforms here, strung together by 10 zip lines, including one that’s nearly half a kilometer long. Zipping through the canopy, you get these flashes of ocean views between bursts of green leaves. The wind in your face is pure adrenaline, but it’s over before you know it.

Afterwards, we drove to the Tarcoles River. There’s this faint muddy smell near the banks, mixed with something floral from wild bushes. The boat glides quietly—except when someone spots a croc and everyone leans in for a better look. Some of these crocodiles are massive, just sunning themselves on muddy banks like they own the place.
