What’s included

Your day includes port pickup in Vancouver with a friendly local guide leading the way; admission tickets for both Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and the Grouse Mountain Skyride; plus drop-off at your hotel downtown or by YVR airport when it’s all done—so you don’t have to worry about any logistics between cruise ship and city adventure.

I’ll never forget the first wobble on the Capilano Suspension Bridge. We’d just crossed over the Lions Gate Bridge—our guide, Mark, pointed out the boats and a couple of seaplanes skimming low over Burrard Inlet. Vancouver’s skyline slid away behind us, all glass and green. It was one of those mornings when you can’t quite tell if it’s mist or just your own breath hanging in the air. At Cleveland Dam, I leaned over the rail and felt that rush in my chest—the water roaring below, but everything else so quiet you could hear someone’s jacket rustle.

Walking into Capilano Suspension Bridge Park was like stepping into a postcard but with more cedar smell and less perfection. The bridge itself is longer than I expected (and higher—my legs did that weird jelly thing halfway across). Mark told us about the history here, something about loggers and salmon runs—I only caught half because I was too busy staring down at the river. There were families inching along, kids squealing every time it bounced. I laughed at myself for gripping the side so tightly. The Cliffwalk felt even sketchier, honestly—just glass under your feet and trees everywhere you look.

After that we headed up to Grouse Mountain on the Skyride cable car. The clouds were low but sometimes they broke open and you’d get these sudden flashes of sun on all that snow up top (in June!). Grinder and Coola—the grizzly bears—were out lumbering around their enclosure; a little girl next to me kept waving at them like they might wave back. Lunch was quick but tasted better than it should’ve after all that fresh air. The view from Paradise Patio made me wish I had a better camera—or maybe just more time to sit there doing nothing at all.
